In the vernacular, Nawlins.

I'm kinda really really really tired right now, so this post is going to be peacefully short. I'm sacked out in a bed at Niki's parent's place; her father, the Saint of Picking People Up at Airports (it's a pretty niche sainthood, but someone's gotta do it) retrieved us at 2ish local time. I'm 'logging this from my laptop, recently recovered from the time-space anomaly that is Antica Roma. But more on that another time. For now, I'm safe, comfy, and headed to bed.

The Ordeal

Well, we're here. But, man, getting here was rough. Broken vehicles, miles of snow, traffic, expired attendants... It really seems amazing that we made it out of Boulder, let alone into the sky, and from there to New Orleans.

But I'm getting ahead of myself. First, I should establish the setting.Collapse )

We landed at 2 AM central time, which I wrote about, this morning.

Now, I think I'm going to go walking with Niki. and see what we can see. The weather here is mild, so I don't think I'll even be taking a jacket. I'll be online, if anyone wants to ping me. And yes, I'll be bringing home souvineers for special someones. Is it odd to take a vacation and miss one's friends so soon?
